One of my favorite quotes is from John Piper, which says, "Missions exist because worship doesn't." That is why we go and work - so that God may be worshiped by all people.

God has blessed me beyond what I could have imagined by bringing me to a community in Denver that has a heart for Jesus and his kingdom. I love doing life with these people - and going to Haiti is part of our journey together as we learn more and more what it means to be missional exactly where we are here in Denver. We all feel a calling to serve the city of Denver, and I believe that going to Haiti will help us serve and love the people of Denver better. Personally, I hope to do oversea mission work someday, so going to Haiti is another small step down that path.
God doesn't need us to be of great skill or knowledge, but simply have a willing heart - and I truly believe that is what we have. The Spirit is at work in each of us, and I know that each of us has a desire to be used for the glory of our King. I'm full of anticipation and joy as I think on what the Lord is going to do in the coming months. My hope is this: "Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, 'The Lord reigns!'" - 1 Chronicles 16:31
