EMILY ZAJICEK

Hi my name is Emily Zajicek I live in Littleton and I work at Johnson & Wales University. I love to stay active, travel, go on outdoor adventures, read, eat good food, spend time with family and volunteer. Four years ago if you would have told me that I would be going on a mission trip to Haiti I would have told you you were crazy! I used to believe that my own independence and work ethic was the reason for my successes. I lived a very lukewarm lifestyle and didn't really see a purpose to life. The whole time Jesus was tapping me on the shoulder calling me back to him. He was so faithful and constant even when I wanted nothing to do with him. I wrote him off like just any old friend. It brings tears to my eyes to think about how much favor and protection he gave me when I wanted nothing to do with him, I was too busy living my life for me. After a few major failures I realized I couldn't keep living my life on my own, I needed a God that is much bigger than me. He is so good and his grace is more than enough! When I finally gave my life to Christ whole heartedly I had three different friends share the same verse with me in the SAME day "For I know the plans I have for you declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11. I need my savior's strength everyday and I am so thankful for his blessings and favor in my life. I have been going to Red Rocks Church for almost a year now, and so grateful for the amazing people I've had the privilege to meet. I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to go share the gospel in Haiti with a group of awesome believers! I know this mission trip will be so life changing and encouraging in my walk of faith.
