Day 12: summary continued

Day 11 evening:  Dom and I ran into our street soccer friends from our trip here in August.  It was two of the older ones and immediately recognized me as I did them.  They were overjoyed to see me and they asked where everyone else was.  I told them it was just me and they told me to say hi to the rest of you because you are greatly missed.  We talked for a bit and told them we would be joining them for soccer this week!  Dom and I had already scheduled soccer with another group of street soccer players farther down the street for that day.  So we ended up walking to the new street and playing for about an hour and getting to connect with some new friends.  We decided to buy a handful of soccer balls to bring to the groups to give them a gift and create relationships with them.  We would like to use this as an opportunity to start small bible studies with the street children.

Day 12:
Dom and I woke up at midnight to pray.  It is known here that this is the best time to pray because of when the demonic spirit are most active. It is between the time of midnight and 3am that voodoo witch doctors do most of there sacrifices and spirits are called upon.  We prayed for roughly 30 minutes over Haiti and declared Jesus name and his blood over there city and country.  Declaring the night to be of light and not darkness knowing where there is light, Jesus,  there can be no darkness.  It was a powerful time and victory was gods.  This is something we hope to be doing every night at midnight.
We woke up early this morning and went to pastors day church.  We went to the first service that was from 630am to 830am.  They do it very early to be the heat when the sun comes up.  The worship was good brought healing and peace to the mind and soul.  The service was good but we didn't get to see the main pastor because he was out of town.  I am hoping to next weekend.  we left that service and traveled 40 minutes picking people up along the way for another church service that I would be speaking at.  The Holy Spirit had filled the church and my message was twice as long as it has been this whole time here.  The congregeation was strengthened by the words and several times would yell a loud amen and strong clapping.  I couldn't rewrite what I said if I tried and that's when you know God was speaking right through me.  Thomas came to me after and said why don't you say that message at my church.  I told him I would love to give a message like that every time but it is not always up to me.  It was encouraging to both myself and Dom because we were beginning to wonder if God was leading our messages.
After that service we left to another church but this church had again a spirit that was not of freedom. Everyone was dressed in all white and the message was off from scripture.  I spoke for about 10 minutes just speaking about Jesus and how he is the fulfillment of the law and we are known by the way we love not by the way we look or what we have.  After they danced and danced and danced.  It was good but then I got the same feeling before that felt like a ritual.  It was also odd how the older people were dancing wild with no care of who they ran into.  The children seemed to be purchased to the side.  This did not sit well right after they preached about god being love but then they seem to dance with no care for those around them.  Don't get me wrong, I love to dance, as all of you know but it should be expressed in a healthy way with thought first for those around us.
We left in mid dancing and Dom and I were given a ride back to pastor days house.  I spent this evening talking with pastor day about the rest of my stay and got good clearity from him and I was able to give him some as well.  We both are open to seeing what God does with connecting his ministey with mosaic ministry or not.  The request is that Mosaic would be one to support what God is doing for them with missionaries.  We also talked about making sure while I am here that I connect with other organizations and see as much of Haiti, as God opens the doors to do so.  I am here to continue to watch and pray as I grow up in Christ being more established and rooted in love.

I will continue to pray with you daily as I have been but will focus on being with you at 10 pm our time while you are at the front lines of the midnight battlefield.
